“Wow this is going to make things a lot harder” Ronnie said as she and Steve followed Doug over to the fields. “So Doug why are we heading this way? I mean, don’t you think they are at the pond?”
“Nope.” He smiled at their confusion.
“So you don’t think that’s who we heard last night?”
“Oh no I am quite certain that’s who we heard.”
Steve smiled “simple Ronnie, they were at the pond, but are now trying to find their way back to the dorms. Which means they could really be anywhere by now…”
“Precisely.” Doug smiled as they neared the fields “that’s why we are taking to the air.”
“Oh no WE are not!” Steve said with more authority than he was used to.
Ronnie was speechless, and just stared at the Hippogriffs as they trotted over to meet Doug.
“Well Steve, if you really don’t want to come along I totally understand but it’s really a lot of fun, and I can put you on Mamma-Marey. She is very sweet and quiet.”
Before Steve could make up his mind he was hanging on for dear life as the three Hippogriffs took to the air. Although they were supposed to be looking for the two lost classmates, Ronnie was much more interested in her mount, Arnold, while Steve was just trying not to cry out, Doug was the only one really looking. Luckily he could spot anything out of place in his woods. Within 15 minutes they were heading back to the headmaster to tell them where to find the lost students.
